And the finalists are...

The members of the jury are pleased to reveal the finalists of the Development Youth Prize 2007.

Composed of representatives of Ministries of Development Affairs and Education, the European Commission, the European Parliament as well as experts in development, media and art education, the grand jury selected one winner and one runner-up from each European member country. They evaluated the contributions linked to the three themes (Climate Change, Sustainable Tourism and Water and Energy) on several criteria such as creativity and originality, clarity of the message and quality of the contributions.

The finalists were selected out of more than 1128 entries, representing schools from all EU member countries. The national winners will be announced at the prize-giving ceremony in Strasbourg in November 2008.

And the prizes are...
- For each country, one winner, his teacher and one runner-up and his teacher are invited to Strasbourg from 15-17 November 2008 to attend European Development Days.
- Winning pupils and their teachers will be invited to accompany the European Commissioner for Development, Louis Michel, to an African developing country at the beginning of 2009.

Congratulations!
